Kids Art Camp (ages 6-9) Week of July 6-10th
We will be utilizing a larger space within the mall for these sessions. To find this space, enter the mall through the Queen Street mall doors. On the right is a door to Subway, on the left, Norton's Jewellers, there will be a door just passed Subway with our logo on it. This space is down a flight of stairs, unfortunately there is no access to an elevator.

Please pack a snack and water. We do not have access to a microwave or fridge, so pack all snacks accordingly.
All supplies are included EXCEPT for one blank white tee shirt that parents must supply for the July 8th Printmaking class. Aprons are available to all students but because we often utilize various materials, we recommend that students wear clothes that can get messy.
July 6th: Mini Museum & Art Galleries
Students will transform cardboard boxes into their very own tiny art museums. Using tape, glue, and recycled treasures, kids will build mini walls, pedestals, and even tiny "masterpieces" to hang inside. It is a fun way to learn about 3D building and how to display a collection of art.
July 7th: Plastic Embroidery & Framed Art
This beginner-friendly project introduces children to the world of stitching using sturdy plastic mesh and blunt needles. Using bright yarn, they will learn how to pull thread through the mesh to create colourful geometric patterns and "sewn" drawings. To finish their masterpiece, participants will construct and decorate a custom frame to showcase their textured needlework.
July 8th: DIY Print Shop!
In this "stamp and ink" workshop, kids will discover how to make prints using unexpected everyday items. They will press intricate patterns into styrofoam, dip cut vegetables like celery or potatoes into colourful inks, and use random objects to stamp designs. After practicing their techniques on paper, students will apply their favourite patterns to a blank white t-shirt (brought from home), transforming basic clothing into a piece of wearable custom art. This session is a brilliant way to explore repetition and texture. **parents must pack one blank white tee shirt, used or new that we'll use to print on for the final project
July 9th: Mosaics with Beans
In this workshop, children will press colourful beans and lentils of all sizes into soft slabs of air-dry clay to create vibrant "nature tiles". Students will use the remaining clay to mold small pinch-pots, using the beans as stamping tools to press intricate textures into the sides of their pieces. By adding a decorative bean border to the rim, participants will finish the session with a matching set of durable, earthy art pieces that showcase their fine motor skills and creativity.
July 10th: Mini Board Game Design
In this session, kids get to make the rules! They will design a colourful game board, and decide exactly how players win the game. To add extra excitement, participants will also create a deck of unique "cards" that will introduce unexpected twists and turns to the gameplay. After crafting every piece, they’ll have the chance to test their creation with friends!
