Galkyd thins oil colours and increases transparency and gloss. When used in greater proportions with oil colour, Galkyd will level brushstrokes, creating an enamel-like surface. Galkyd is our fastest-drying painting medium. Thin layers will be touch-dry in approximately 24 hours. High viscosity painting mediums increase the flow of oil colours, yet impart a “sticky” quality. When used in greater proportions with oil colours, high viscosity mediums self-level brushmarks, giving oil colours an enamel-like quality. Fast-drying, 1-2 days.
